Fundación Aranjuez Paisaje Cultural
Aranjuez – Spain

Aranjuez (Spanish pronunciation: [aɾaŋˈxweθ]) is a small city located in the south of the Community of Madrid, which currently has about 60.000 inhabitants.

In 2001, our city was declared a World Heritage Cultural Landscape by UNESCO and it is for this reason that the city of Aranjuez has a special sensitivity about the environmental and cultural dimension of our site, about our heritage.

In recent years, in Aranjuez Cultural Landscape Foundation and on behalf of the Municipality of Aranjuez, we have developed several educational programs aimed to different groups, with the purpose of providing a thorough understanding of the values of our cultural and natural heritage, which have made us worthy of being included in the UNESCO World heritage List.

These initiatives have been launched from the conviction that, only through knowledge, our exceptional value can be preserved and maintained for future generations since it can offer the population of Aranjuez the possibility of strengthening their identity and to find ways of preserving it, both in the tangible and intangible scope.

We have actively worked with young people from schools, and with elderly people of our city separately to get to our goals, but this Teddy Bears in Pairs Project offers us the possibility to interconnect elderly people with Young people, working together developing their specific skills to profit from each other’s knowledge and experience, and to get to an intergenerational awareness on our past, our present and our future, as an outstanding heritage site.

This objective will be highly enriched being part of this European Project, not only to share experiences with other countries using new methods, but to raise awareness of our European citizenship and the international dimension of heritage among elderly people and, most of all, among young people. At the same time, it is a good way to transmit our heritage values firsthand from our elderlies to our young people, future stakeholders and decision makers in our respective sites.

E-SENIORS: INITIATION DES SENIORS AUX NTIC ASSOCIATION
Paris– France

E-Seniors is a non-profit non-governmental organization, founded in 2005 by Monique EPSTEIN, the general manager of the association. E-Seniors aims at fighting e-exclusion by providing access to and training in ICT to seniors and/or disabled people. Its main objectives are:
– to shrink, and where possible, bridge the digital gap between generations,
– to care for elders by fighting seniors’ isolation,
– to open new horizons for efficient use of free time.
Since its creation, E-Seniors have provided courses on ICT usage for seniors in various public locations and the association is constantly opening new locations all over the region in order to provide a “proximity” service that takes into account the rhythm, interests and needs of its potential audience.
